GREY
HAIR BLENDING:
if you have only a few grey hairs poking through your natural
hair color that are driving you crazy, and want to camouflage
them so they don't show, here's the advice you need to do it
by yourself or even better with a friend's help in the comfort of
your own home:
My
suggestion is to buy and start with a semi-permanent hair
color product a shade or two lighter than your natural hair
color.
The color inside the box is usually darker than the color
on the box, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
Also, you can always darken it next time with no hassle, but going
too dark can involve corrective
coloring
(that can be done only by professionals) which can get pricey.
There's no easy way back to the original hair color you
started with and no easy way to do it without a professional hair
colorist.
Semipermanent hair color products are the mildest, least
damaging to the hair, the lowest maintenance, and easiest to
apply.
To proceed make sure to cover your entire head with the product,
then simply follow the timing instructions on the box.
Warning though, don't be fooled by hair coloring products
that claim to be semi-permanent, but in fact are NOT.
If it can lighten your natural hair color, it is in NO
way semi-permanent.
A good tip to spot the difference no matter what is
stated: permanent colors require an
activating agent so if you're mixing 2 different products
from the box, it is most likely permanent color.
